It seems I have been using this blog to whine a lot. Bad blog! You exist to amuse others, not sulk in public. So, to remind myself, here's a list of Good Things:
- The curse of Unlucky Fridays seems to have been lifted; we haven't had one in two weeks. Hooray! Also, the plumbers who have had a week's worth of work to do since January actually showed up and did nearly a week's worth of work, which is practically a miracle, and since we're shipping again the business will be in the black again soon. Therefore, much farm-related goodness.
- Since its installation a week ago, Referrer Karma has stopped a bit over ten thousand illegitimate hits on my blog, dropping my bandwidth costs considerably and rendering my stats useful again. It's hard to tell how much adding comment captcha has stopped, but no comment spam in that same week = happy Kat. Of course, no comments of any sort, so slightly paranoid Kat, but my test comment worked okay....
- I got to see the new Pirates movie with my family. I am the walking personification of fangirl SQUEE!
- Lazette forwarded me a message yesterday asking permission to print out my Hooks and Crooks article for use in a teacher's workshop. My god. I feel all reprinted and important and stuff.
- And on the topic of writing, while plotting out the semi-pastache futuristic Victorian novel I've been working on for FM's Two-Year Novel project (which, to my shock, is actually coming together and like, working, and stuff. I started the whole thing as a lark) I realized that the villain I'd added a day or two ago was, in fact, an Evil Scientist. Who was obsessed with machine intelligence. This means I have a honest-to-god legitimate plot reason to have killer robots. I haven't done much with this yet aside from run around the house shouting "Killer robots! Killer robots!", but I'm sure I will.
- I'm late for work. Um, wait, that's not good, is it? YIPE!
